Don’t do it all yourself! 3 Major reasons why you need a social media manager

Social media is a fun place to be. More than fun however, is the endless money making and marketing possibilities it holds for small and medium size  businesses that may not have a lot of funding to throw into advertising.

Social media however is a totally different ball game. Any business without a good social media grounding is taken as unserious because, HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE A SOCIAL PRESENCE  FOR YOUR BUSINESS? It is practically impossible and some believe if they found a vendor like that, they would not be encouraged to patronize them.

Beyond a social media presence for your business is making that presence count. It is not just about having a page and gaining followers but making every minute devoted to running that social media page worth it and targeted to either increase your sales or achieve whatever business goals you may have.

Most small businesses prefer to handle their social media by themselves and rightly so because at the beginning stage, you may not need to hire hands for it since you are just starting out. Still, you will get to that point where you will need to delegate this task to more skilled hands so you can focus on the future of your business.

If you’re still not convinced, here are 3 strong reasons why you need a social media manager for your brand’s social media;

1. You need an expert to harness the full potential of social media

I know you’re probably thinking, “But it’s just Instagram, it’s not that serious jor! Is it not just to post pictures?” Well, this same “not serious” Instagram has made stars of countless people, from skit makers to comedians. Social media has helped to reach millions of people and drastically increase sales and get more customers while building brand loyalty but all this is only if you know what you’re doing.

You’re most likely not an Instagram or social media expert so though it may look simple to you, it can be quite tricky. You might be doing everything right in your opinion and still be lost in the thousands of feed that pour in by the second.

This is why you need to hire a social media manager who has experience and is skilled with handling social media accounts to handle your brand’s page for you. A social media manager will create the best strategy suitable for your brand to help you get the best out of your social media presence while discovering new ways – and discarding old ones – to keep your brand at the top of the trend chart in a positive light.

2. Social media takes a lot of time, that you could use for other more important tasks

Social media is no doubt important, but it is only a part of the big picture which is your small business’ brand. Handling your social media is time consuming and the results will often not be seen immediately which might make you feel like you are wasting your time.

A better option is to let someone else do it. A social media manager will respond to your DMs, reply to your comments promptly, engage your social media, update you on trends so content can be created and other very important little details.

It may seem like small a simple task and you’ll be thinking that you don’t need a social media manager for all that. However, the truth is that social media can be very distracting – as you go from one DM you’re responding to, you will just find yourself laughing hilariously at the 10th comedy skit in a row. This is only a problem when you’re supposed to be doing something else with your time.

A social media manager will be on high alert monitoring trends, new topics and any cause of alarm while properly representing your brand with the right tone.

3. Social media algorithm is tricky and can be frustrating if not properly diagnosed

Do you know what shadow banning means? Or correct hashtag usage? Probably no because you are not such an expert on these things. Even if by chance you do, it’s probably not an in depth knowledge of the issues. Sometimes you might post but less than half of your followers will see it.

For a social media manager, it is their job to know these things; they know the correct hashtags to use to bring you higher reach for each post, they know the correct time to post different content, they know what content may work and what won’t, they know how to get past all the wahala of Instagram algorithm that is constantly changing, seemingly against the user of the platform.

Social media is an arm of your business marketing on its own and should be treated as such. This is why you should get a social media manager for your business so that you can focus on actually running your business instead of handling mundane tasks that may not always translate to sales or the achievement of your brand goal.

Get a social media manager to handle your page and filter only the important details or customers to you! Your small business or brand will love you for it.
